Experience the That Luang Festival 2025 in Vientiane
If you’re in Laos this November, you’re in for something truly special — the That Luang Festival (Boun That Luang), one of the most important and beautiful celebrations in the country.
This year, the festival will take place from Monday, 3 November to Wednesday, 5 November 2025, with the main holiday on 5 November. It’s held at the iconic Pha That Luang stupa in Vientiane, a national symbol of Laos and a sacred Buddhist site.

Over these three days, thousands of people from across Laos gather at Pha That Luang to give alms, join candlelight processions, and make merit. You’ll see monks from all over the country, families dressed in traditional Lao clothing, and the temple grounds filled with the sound of music, prayers, and laughter.
It’s not only a spiritual celebration but also a vibrant cultural event with markets, food stalls, and colorful parades. For visitors and expats, it’s a wonderful chance to experience the heart of Lao culture up close.
📍 When: 3–5 November 2025
