Cambodia Airways Launches Direct Flights Between Phnom Penh and Vientiane
Cambodia Airways has officially launched a new direct flight service connecting Phnom Penh and Vientiane, strengthening air connectivity between Cambodia and the Lao PDR.
The inaugural flight took place on 29 January 2026, carrying a total of 153 passengers. The launch marks an important step in improving travel convenience between the two capitals, reducing travel time and providing a direct option for tourists, business travelers, and residents.
Under the current schedule, Cambodia Airways will operate two flights per week, on Thursdays and Sundays. The new route is expected to support tourism growth, business exchanges, and people-to-people connections between the two neighboring countries.
The direct service offers travelers a more efficient alternative to indirect routes and is anticipated to encourage greater movement between Phnom Penh and Vientiane, particularly as regional travel continues to recover and expand.
The opening of this route reflects Cambodia Airways’ ongoing efforts to expand its regional network and enhance connectivity within Southeast Asia.
