In the centre of Luang Prabang, climb the 328 steps to Mount Phousi and you’ll find one of the city’s best-known panoramic views.

From the top you can look across the old town, mountains and the Mekong.

Luang Prabang’s official tourism site specifically describes Mount Phousi as one of the city’s most popular places for watching sunset.

There is one challenge here that has nothing to do with climbing:

the crowd.

Sunset is extremely popular.
